‘Tis the season for Thanksgiving baskets and giving trees, for coat drives and soup kitchens. Despite all of our condemnation of the commercialism of the Christmas season, we can’t deny that this is a giving time of year, and crowded round the doors of our busy centers of commerce is the ringing-reminder that there are still people in need.
But, before you start writing checks, Oh Good Steward, it is important to remember that it is not your money that you are giving (Luke 19:23), which means rolling up your sleeves and do some research.
