Thanks God for Friends

My friend Rachel blogs at Keep it Simple, she has an amazing heart just overflowing with compassion. A few days ago she mentioned my nephew Isaiah in a blog post about Perspective.

I am so incredibly blessed to have an amazing group of friends who love the Lord and really do have great perspective. I'm very encouraged by them.

I encourage you to take a minute to poke through Rach's blog, she has a lot of great, practical things to say about mommyhood, building a happy home, being financially wise, and being a woman of God.

I would like to add a postscript, though.

Sometimes, when bad things happen, our mantra becomes, "It could be worse, it could be worse." But really, that's not the point. The point is that no matter how bad it gets, God is the same God. He brings both the rain and the drought, He's God both on the road and in the wilderness. He's God in the rainstorm and in the typhoon.

He's there.

He's there through puking nights and through nights where you wish that the puking was the worst of our problems.

And He cares.

He cares when we trip over our own feet and when walk to the edge of a chasm we have no hope of crossing.

He's there and he cares. There is no big and small to a God who envelopes the universe.
