amending my former statement

i was reading over my entry called 'obedience in prayer' and want to correct something that i misinterpreted:

but we are insane with confidence because we know that our simple obedience to this faith we
have in Christ (by which we stand) is not without effect. we know that obedience to this faith opens the mystery of the gospel of Jesus Christ: "now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith" (rom 16:25-26).

these verses in romans state that the mystery which has been 'kept secret since the world began' is not made manifest to all nations according to the commandment of the God. this mystery has been revealed because God commanded it so. the stated purpose of this revelation is obedience to the faith we have in Him (given by His grace).

so really i should have said that we know that our obedience (in prayer) is possible because of this revelation of the mystery of the gospel of Jesus Christ. this revelation is accessable to all people in all nations, even those who are disobedient to Christ.

i didn't want to be guilty of false teaching or anything!
