What are we doing?

if we are not loving others what are we doing? here's a thought: Jesus, after calling the prophet levi went to a party at his house populated by sinners and tax collectors. most of us who have been christians for a length of time know that He said, "those who are well have no need of a physician but those who are sick. i have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

but really what if we were live like that? what if i were to have a party and invite the scum of my town? the partyers, the loose, the drunkards, the druggies, even criminals. in my world it is considered prudent to spend time with other christians. sure we say we should witness to nonbelievers but do we spend time with them socially?

if i were to have a party would i invite both my clean christian friends and those known for (and proud of) their sin? and what would the motivation be? real love, honest love, difficult love...agape love. where is this in my life? how difficult is it to love my friends and my family?

"For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? Matt 5:46

praise God for his grace, LORD teach me to love

may we know Your love; feel it course through our veins, encircling our hearts and embracing our souls, we need Your love and grace to remain, to rearrange our hearts and change the way we praise
